Once I learned how to take my mayo up a few notches by making my own (seriously, it’s so easy – I promise!), I can’t help but experiment with all the savory additions.

When I think of my favorite savory toppings for burgers and sandwiches, bacon always comes to mind. It’s that addition of sweet, smokey and salty crunch that does it for me.

That’s where the idea for this homemade bacon aioli came from. Why not combine two of the ultimate burger toppings: mayo and bacon! When you crumble the bacon directly into this aioli, incredible things happen.

Bacon Aioli Ingredients

  • Mayonnaise – I love a high quality olive oil mayo, and you can use your favorite store brand here. However, if you want to go all out – make your own mayonnaise!
  • Minced garlic – I will always admit that I am a cheater and love to grab the pre-minced garlic from the produce section. However, feel free to mince your own for a high quality flavor!   • Lemon juice – fresh squeezed is best but you can use what you have on hand.
  • Salt – to taste
  • Pepper – to taste
  • Bacon pieces – chopped. Use your favorite kind of bacon for this recipe!

  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • ¼ cup bacon pieces 4 slices, chopped
